Rules

English Only + microphone

We have nothing against other languages, but for the purpose of making sure everyone is playing by the rules and to stop there being an advantage from using a different language we must advise that players speak only in English to keep it fair on everyone. We will do our best to warn players who break this rule but sadly there may be a language barrier and it could result in a temporary ban to get the message across.

On top of being English only, everyone needs to have a clear, working microphone with push to talk enabled. Nobody wants to hear your background 24/7 and it's extremely difficult to roleplay with someone that doesn't have a clear or working microphone.

RDM: Random Death Match

The act of killing a player with no motive or reason.

• You must know the character, have a reason, and initiate properly.

Failure to Initiate
You must initiate RP verbally every time you go to engage conflict.
This is a roleplay server, not a team deathmatch shooter game.
__________________________

• Killing someone on sight is prohibited under this rule, even in gang territories. 

• If you've been out of a scenario for over 10 minutes, you must re-initiate.

• Twitter is not a proper way of initiating.

Powergaming

The process of gaining an advantage by using in-game mechanics or RP which results in other players involved no opportunity to interact or defend themselves forcing them to have no choice but to lose.

• Abusing in-game mechanics: Examples vary, but are not limited to the ragdoll function, emotes, in-game menus (eg: Using the garage menu to get a car out in a police chase, using a prop whilst selling drugs).

• Calling injuries: the process in which you try to decide the injury of another player. 

• Forced Death: The attempt to force a player to permanently kill off their character, or try to decide their death for them.

• Body Camping: Camping a body to ensure they don't get help. This is also not valuing your freedom.

• Forceful Retcon: This along with trying to force the character to remember or forget about certain situations are examples of powergaming.

Bank Robberies and Heists

You can have 6 people in total involved in these situations (Rule of 6). This is exempt from Interfering with Active Situations.

• Only 1 getaway vehicle is allowed outside the bank. 

• You can have vehicle swaps or outside help down the road as long as it follows the Rule of  6.

Not Valuing Your Life & Your Freedom

Your characters should demonstrate a normal concern for their own self-preservation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Risking your own life in situations where you can otherwise get off unharmed. You are not an invincible action hero.

• Antagonizing police (Read also: Services Baiting) or attempting to engage with someone where the outcome would surely mean you harm.

• Committing loud or violent crimes in "populated" areas like government buildings or public businesses (i.e. places where there would be additional staff, security, etc.)

• Sticking around someone you have downed, rather than fleeing the scene of the crime. This could also be considered Powergaming

Location Camping or Sheltering

Location Camping

• You cannot stay at a unique location with the intention of keeping other people away or claiming that location as your own.

• Examples: Camping weed field, NPC interaction points like chop shop, or resource locations both legal and illegal.

Sheltering

• You cannot go to a location to use as shelter to avoid conflict. You must escape the conflict and after a cooldown of 10 minutes you may go to these locations.

• The only acceptable location to flee to before the 10 minute cooldown is a Police Department.

• Examples: Hospitals, Player Owner Businesses, Player Owned Housing, Public/Whitelist Job Locations, Harvey Center, Diamond Casino.

Lootboxing

Don’t treat police or EMS like loot boxes. Do not create situations just to get their items. Only steal from them under extreme circumstances during the normal course of roleplay.

Whitelist Job Abuse & Negativity 

Abuse of whitelist job functions across all jobs, as well as harassment and negativity.

• Do not powergame utilizing the job functions and tools given to you, may they be in-game or documentation outside of the game.

• Do not clock into your job and make income doing other things outside of your job that gain you income, such as other public jobs or activities such as fishing or hunting. 

• Do not be negative and harassing in your job's Discord spaces or in people's DMs in relations to your job. This brings a negative environment to your department and is zero tolerance. 

Your job may also have an in-depth list of things they consider whitelist job abuse specifically to their job, talk to your employers to get more information. Also, this is the only rule that can also result in in-character consequences such as being fired from your in-city job. 

Toxicity

Spreading, being or breeding toxicity in any way sharp or form.

If your toxicity stems from an angering situation, collect yourself and walk away. Examples of toxicity we take action against 

• Being downed by another player. If someone downs you. Sometimes it is a bitter situation, but you should remember your character is in pain and keep your words brief and don't make it a verbal pissing match.

• Excessive toxicity towards Police and other whitelisted jobs. 

  • Being upset over being arrested or denied service can happen, but it does not make sense to hound people and constantly hurl insults at them. These people aren't real life professionals, they are roleplayers and this is just a game. 

• This rule also applies to toxicity within Discord.

Mutilation & Dismemberment
Mutilating is forbidden UNLESS it has been agreed to by all partaking parties.

• You cannot force someone down this line of roleplay if they aren't interested in doing it, this is a strong line of roleplay that should only be pursued if everyone is 100%.

• To pursue this, feel free to utilize asking them in /me's or get consent through Discord before proceeding.

• If you are the victim, you are allowed to break character in these scenarios to avoid being in an uncomfortable and/or triggering situation where you do not consent.

Character Relations & Transfers

All knowledge and possessions of each character must stay to that character and never be transferred or shared between characters.

• Any sort of money or possession transfer between characters is prohibited and will be reverted, and punishment that will be swiftly followed.

• Do not make characters that are siblings, cousins, or have close relationships to each other.

• Characters are not allowed to be in the same gang together.

• Do not make characters and use them to impact your other characters RP stories.

Combat Logging & Respawning

Combat Logging is when you log out of the game mid situation, or to avoid a scenario completing its course.

• Respawning at a situation with a medic or an officer is tending to you can also warrant the same punishment as you are whisking yourself out of the situation you have ended up in.

• Only log out or switch characters once the situation or scene has come to an end and you have actively left the scene as your character so they don't just watch your character disappear in thin air.

Pocket Wiping

Do not pocket wipe players, pocket wiping is when you completely take everything from a player and this is considered griefing.

• Stealing anything beyond weapons, communications/electronics, illegal and other high value items must have a valid RP reason. This is a major hindrance to people's time here on the server. 

• If you have high value or illegal items, please handle them responsibly and put them away.

Sexual Harassment

We understand characters shooting their shots, and we understand some people pursue romantic roleplay. You're allowed to let your character mold a meaningful relationship with another character, but please see the signs of awkwardness, and take the hint when your interest is not returned.

The following actions are considered inappropriate advances: 

• Becoming overtly sexual with someone you barely know: Asking someone to check out your genitals in a medical situation or getting overly sexual towards someone you just met and have no history with. 

•  Persisting despite denial. 

• Going out of city to find them and DMing them inappropriately. 

• Becoming overtly rude or hostile when advances are turned down. Don't be a creep, people come here to have fun. 

Important: If this happens to you, please be CLEAR in communicating that you ARE NOT interested  should that be the case.
"Don't talk to me like that" "I'm not interested, stop." Or LEAVE the situation when able even if doing so may not be in your character's nature. It is important to communicate this as well, and if you feel your boundaries are still being disrespected, please come forth.

Scripting

The act of using a hacking menu, client, or command to gain an advantage in any way, may it be to spawn money, vehicles, gain invincibility or anything, this is zero tolerance and will result in a permanent ban with zero hesitation.

• This includes aim assists, money spawning, vehicle spawning, keyboard/mouse macros, etc. 

Exploiting & Attempted Exploitation

The act of finding holes in the server's economy or mechanics and utilizing the workarounds to gain an extremely unfair advantage in a situation or in the grand scheme of things.

• Economically, if you find something that is gaining you an insane amount of money very quick, you should report it immediately to see if it is intentional and not continue utilizing it until you know.

  • Selling vehicles at a low low price to avoid the 7% tax is also considered exploitation.

• If a feature is bugged, but in such a way that it is resulting in favorable situations that gives you way too much leverage, bring it forward and don't do it unless you are told it is intended that way.

• If any exploitation attempts are sighted in of New Chance's logged information or in recordings, you can also be given points and bans for attempting.

Gang Uniform Rule

If you are with an official gang you need to be identifiable as a member of that gang by staying in "uniform" .

When your doing any gang related activities you need to be wearing the gang uniform.

• Meetings, with other groups or internal, to discuss things.

• Going to attack another group.

• any other gang activity...

When you are doing criminal activity that is not associated with the gang and you don't want the actions traced back to the group you can take off the uniform.

• Examples are:

• Robbing a bank, robbing a store, robbing houses, slinging drugs...

Other Official Gang Rules

• You may not RP as one of these gangs unless you have applied and been approved. If you are currently you must stop. 

• You may RP as your own gang, group or family as long as you don't use the official gang names or appearances. Don't try to look like them by wearing their colors or cuts, and do not occupy their official area surrounding the gang HQ.

• Official gang members cannot hold another whitelist job, which includes being a business owner, on the same character.

• Official gangs must maintain an active group of at least 6 players.

• Official gang members must bring a high level of quality RP to the server and use the official gang features to provide an enhanced experience to other non-official gang players.

• Official gangs members must not violate server rules. If staff feels this is an issue, you will be approached and be at risk of losing claim over the official gang. 

Stance on Alliances between Gangs:

Alliances between gangs on NCRP are prohibited. At no point should you be coordinating or working with another gang.

This pertains to but is not limited to: 

• Drug drops

• Do not coordinate timing of drops with other gangs so that you can collect your goods. This is meant to be a tension filled adventure. 

• Working at each other's fronts 

• Collusions 

• Don't participate in killing/harming/kidnapping another gang's enemy for them 

• Don't commit robberies or heists together 

You're welcome to attend events where they are present, have friendly conversations, and overall co-exist with other gangs, as long as you aren't benefitting them and helping them. 

Stance on Gang Members having a Cop Alt

A big issue around this is meta-gaming, which we want to do our best to avoid via implementing in the rules.

At the end of the day, you can be both a cop and and a gang member, but you must choose between:

• Being rank 3 or higher in a gang

• Being rank 11 or higher in PD
